Is Your Brand About What You Do or Who You Are?
Brands are a funny thing. They convey trust, reliability, safety, confidence, luxury, value and many other emotions and sentiments – all with a single word, phrase or image. It’s a remarkable phenomenon really. For example, the brand name ‘Lexus’ immediately invokes luxury and quality, as the word itself is derived from the terms ‘luxury’ and ‘elegance’. ‘Nike’ is aptly named after the Greek goddess of victory.
In full disclosure, this post is intended to serve as an announcement of sorts. As you may or may not already be aware, as of January 1st, the Enliven SEO & Design brand is being retired in favor of our new company name, MoxieMen Incorporated. The new website which is currently under construction is located at http://moxiemeninc.com.
So why re-brand the company when the Enliven name is only a couple years old?
I’ve been asked this several times lately, and it has little to do with the timing. If anything, a rebranding campaign should take place sooner rather than later. The more people get used to a brand or name, the longer it takes to change perceptions. The reason for the re-brand goes back to the original concept of the Enliven name.
By now, everyone has a presence on the Web. It’s basically impossible to do business without at least some hub or point of reference, whether it’s a website, a blog on Tumblr or a Facebook account at the very minimum. Virtually every one of our engagements begins with a client whose Web presence had become stale, or never had much substance to begin with. In examining what it is we actually do for our clients, we realized that we enliven, or bring life to their Web presence, hence the name. The ‘SEO & Design‘ nomenclature was simply a mechanism to illustrate our main lines of service.
But while it made sense at the time, we began to realize that the name ‘Enliven SEO & Design’, while a strong indicator of what we do, spoke nothing of who we are.
So who are we?
The team has grown over time to include several different people, some of whom I’ve worked with for several years now and are integral contributors to the numerous client successes we been able to achieve. Our group has grown as the realm of Internet Marketing has evolved and to meet the expanded needs of our growing client base. Our operation as a whole wouldn’t be nearly as strong as it is today without these highly competent and trusted associates. There’s simply no way one person can effectively execute the wide variety of initiatives that we need to be able to offer.
We’re a team of experts and as a group, we are stronger than the sum of our parts. MoxieMen Incorporated consists of specialists who are all very strong performers in our respective disciplines of Internet Marketing. From strategy development, to web design, to SEO & PPC, content & Ecommerce, there’s a highly skilled team member to meet each of our clients’ specific needs.
And finally, I just want to offer a simple thank you to the clients, associates and colleagues who’ve helped make this operation a success over the last 5+ years. There are truly too many to name but please know that your contribution and support has been a blessing and it is truly appreciated.
